Locally, 65.8 percent of students in the Laguna Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) are entering school ready for kindergarten*, higher than the Orange County rate of 52.9 percent.

The LBUSD Board of Education has transitioned to electronic agenda management system, BoardDocs, to improve the governance process, ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and enhance collaboration. Thursday’s regularly scheduled school board meeting on January 16 at 6 p.m. is the first with an agenda compiled using BoardDocs.

Since 2017, LBUSD has increased the number of students participating in AP while also increasing or maintaining the percentage of students earning AP Exam scores of 3 or higher.

The latest data from the CDE shows that LBUSD continues to be one of the highest performing districts in CA in English language arts (ELA) and math.
